What to Expect
Starting therapy often brings practical questions. Below you’ll find details about how I work, session logistics, and what to expect—so you can move forward with more clarity and ease.
Within a relational approach, the first sessions are about creating safety—not fixing you. Many people come to therapy carrying a sense of overwhelm, anxiety, or a lifelong habit of holding everything together. We take time to slow down and understand how these patterns developed, and how they show up in your life and relationships today.
The therapeutic relationship itself becomes part of the work. Together, we notice what it’s like for you to be supported, to express emotion, or to let go of responsibility—even in small ways. You don’t have to be strong here, productive, or “doing therapy right.”
This approach can be especially supportive for those who are overwhelmed, high-achieving, or chronically over-functioning. Over time, this relational work can support more internal steadiness, a softer way of relating to yourself, and connections that feel more authentic and sustainable.
My practice is primarily virtual. In my practice, I offer telehealth sessions for clients located throughout California and Florida using SimplePractice, a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform.
For clients in the San Francisco Bay Area, walk and talk sessions are available in California.
Individual therapy sessions are 50 minutes and typically take place once per week. We can talk together about pacing and frequency as we get started and revisit as needed over time.
I do not accept insurance directly and am considered an out-of-network provider.
If you’d like to seek reimbursement, I’m happy to provide a monthly superbill, which you can submit to your insurance company. Any reimbursement depends on your specific out-of-network benefits.
I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation so we can connect, talk briefly about what you’re looking for, and see whether working together feels like a good fit.
Individual therapy sessions are 50 minutes and are $225 per session.
A limited number of sliding scale spots are available in cases of financial hardship. If cost is a concern, you’re welcome to ask about current availability.
A superbill is a detailed invoice you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
Each month, you’ll receive a document that includes:
- My provider information
- Dates and fees for services
- Service and diagnostic codes required by insurance
In order to provide a superbill, I’m required to include a diagnostic impression. This can be discussed together during sessions and does not change the way we work.
If you’re unable to attend a session, please cancel at least 24 hours in advance.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed appointments, are charged the full session fee. I understand that emergencies happen, and I do my best to be as understanding as possible.
For telehealth sessions, licensing laws require that you are physically located in a state where I am licensed at the time of our session.
- California clients must be physically located in California.
- Florida clients must be physically located in Florida.
If you attend a session while out of state, the session will need to end immediately and will be considered a late cancellation, with the full session fee applied.
I tend to work best with adults, teens, children, and families who are thoughtful, reflective, and emotionally attuned—aware of their inner experience and how it shows up in relationships.
Many of the people I support are high-achieving, nurturing, thoughtful, or deeply caring, and are often drawn to therapy that offers space for depth, insight, and meaning—not just symptom relief. They’re looking for a place where they don’t have to perform or have everything figured out.
Fit matters, and we can explore that together during a consultation.
It’s very common to feel uncertain—especially if you’re used to handling things on your own or have had mixed experiences with therapy.
You don’t need certainty to begin. The consultation is a space to ask questions, name hesitations, and see how it feels to talk together—without pressure.
